Commander of the Turkish Land Forces

GENERAL SELÇUK BAYRAKTAROĞLU GRADUATED FROM THE MILITARY ACADEMY IN 1981 AS A SIGNAL OFFICER WITH THE RANK OF SECOND LIEUTENANT; HE COMPLETED HIS BRANCH SCHOOL TRAINING IN 1982.

GENERAL BAYRAKTAROĞLU SERVED AS PLATOON AND COMPANY COMMANDER IN VARIOUS SIGNAL UNITS FROM 1982 TO 1991. HE GRADUATED FROM THE ARMY WAR COLLEGE IN 1993 AND THE ARMED FORCES COLLEGE IN 1997.

HE WAS PROMOTED TO THE RANK OF GENERAL WITH THE DECREE OF THE SUPREME MILITARY COUNCIL IN 2021.

GENERAL BAYRAKTAROĞLU WAS APPOINTED AS THE COMMANDER OF THE TURKISH LAND FORCES WITH THE PRESIDENTIAL DECREE APPROVED ON 03 AUGUST 2023.

The crescent and star on the flag of Land Forces Command represent being at Turkish People’s service, the crossed swords represent the continuous, strong and determined Land Forces Command, the galloping lancer represents the courage, dynamism and continuity of the Land Forces, and the four stars represent the level of the Turkish Armed Forces.
