Profile of the Program

     The students of the blown and percussive program as the main ınstruments required gain the formal,technic and musical knowledge and ability.Thanks to these outputs ;they use their ability in group and orchestra vocalising. They analyze the works that been played and use this knowledge in interpretations. They have a repertoir in their field in means of vocal,ınstrument and ınstrument community.They have knowledge about contemporary Western music and contemporary Turkish Music’s composers,styles and works written in different period of time.They display the knowledge gained personally and as a group in front of audiences.Thay take the responsibility for every work or project in their field as a member of group.In addition to blown and percussive ınstrument program frame,They gain applications about the field of Military Band.They have sensitivity and respect for human rights, social values, law, environment, and implement security measures in activities related to his field.

SUFFICIENCIES

     Students accomplished this program succesfully;

     1. Can analyze pieces of music using basic musical theory (form, harmony, theory),

     2. Develop a high and selective sense of perception and reception in solfege and rhythmic solutions,

     3. Have knowledge on the cultural and historical aspects of classical music and traditional Turkish music,

     4. Develop a repertoire of musical pieces written for instruments, choirs and orchestras,

    5. Have the technical/musical knowledge and skills to play the etudes written for his major instrument and also the musical pieces of various styles, types and time periods,

   6. Have the technical/musical knowledge and skills to play the pieces of music written/arranged for instrument/vocal groups or choirs/orchestras in harmony,

     7. Can adapt and arrange a piece of music for a band of wind and percussion instruments based on the technical characteristics of the instruments,

     8. Can take responsibility as a group member in all professional activities in their fields,

     9. Being aware of the necessity of lifelong learning and self improvement, they have the skills to think critically; access the knowledge and follow the developments in art/music, science and technology,

     10. Have the skills to present and demonstrate the topics in his field to the society effectively and properly by using visual, written and oral communication methods,

     11. Can follow the developments in the field of music using English at CEFR A 2 Level, access the sources they need, and communicate with his colleagues,

     12. Can use the software in the field of music and the informing & communication technologies,

     13. Are eager to follow and join musical activities, and also can make inferences in his area,

     14. Have the ethics and responsibilities of his area, adapts the conditions of group works and can have responsibilities and do the duties given.

     15. Have sensitivity and respect for human rights, social values, law, environment, and implement security measures in activities related to his field.

     The student gradutaed from this program can workas a teacher in TAF Band Unions and NDU Band Vco Vocational College

Access to the Upper Program

     The students gratuated from associate’s level can continue their education by applying to licence.

Qualification and Consideration

     Consideration in Blown and Percussive Program;Midterm exam, Consideration of practices out of Class and Midterm final exam. The passing grade is determined by decision of the college each year.

Graduation Conditions

     At the Band NCO Vocational College passing grade is base application.The duration of education in associate’s level is 2 years.Academic internship and quotiented applications are palnned and implemented outside of the academik year.

     For gratuating from this program succesfully;

     * Except 3 years due to health problems,complete the the program at least 4 years included healt problems,

     * Be Succesful at the all credits and quotiented courses applications,The awarage of general note is should be at least 2.00 over 4.00.

     * The Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) must be at least 2,00 out of 4,00,

     * Be succesful at the whole courses and complete at least 120 AKTS,

     * Continue to at least 2/3 of the course hour,

     * Should not to spend all discipline points.
